world of gradcraft
Nov. 16th, 2004 03:04 amI have deleted the World of Warcraft beta client and its installer from my computer.
Why?
So that I don't fail out of graduate school. Yes, it could easily happen. Yes, the game is that good. Yes, it does hit retail on the 23rd, at which point I will again be in agony for at least two weeks. No, I don't want to think about that right now.
Given that the client originally took me 16 hours to download over an unshared DSL line at full tilt with bittorrent, I doubt that I will be tempted enough to play to download it again. I hope.
Oh man, I'm fucked.

Date: 2004-11-16 02:03 am (UTC)I've found that downloading anything over (A)DSL with bittorrent is painfully slow: you can't upload much, and you don't download any more than you upload. Plus it saturates the uplink so you keep losing connectivity on anything else.
So, my plan is to not download the silly beta, but buy the full release and play it for most of Thanksgiving.
