Didn't do much of objective worth today.

Bumped into [livejournal.com profile] nickjong today while I was headed for the bus to [livejournal.com profile] rupes's place for games night. Or, to be more precise, he snuck up on me. We came to the consensus that the 174 bus sucks, at least at 6:30pm on Fridays.

Played Goa, Through the Desert, and Tichu. Through the Desert was amusing but not paricularly compelling; the sea of pastel-colored camels just made me dizzy after a while. Tichu was Tichu. Goa, however, was very impressive. I enjoyed it greatly, as it seemed to have some interesting subtleties, and fit nicely into that sphere of economic development games that I like so much (it even had little wooden pieces for commodities) However, I still think (and expressed as much to [livejournal.com profile] rupes) that the Expedition card track is slightly overpowered.

If I don't buy it in the short term, I will likely ask for it for Christmas. That is, if I can get both that and the new Twilight Imperium. ^_^
