Sunrises are quite nice. It's a pity I don't let myself see them more often, but I always wake up too late, and I spend most of my life in Pittsburgh nowadays anyway.
Winter sunrises in the woods are even better. It's all black, right up to the horizon, where there's this thin band of fire that fades off to yellow and then into the blues. And the trees are all black and silhouetted, breaking up the bands of color and....well, sunrises are indeed quite nice.
Hot chocolate is very nice too. Even Swiss Miss. Especially Swiss Miss. To me, it's like coffee without the bite. When I think of coffee, I always have this mental image of the overworked American office drone, rushing around with a cup of coffee in her hand, trusting the brew to get her through the day. Poor thing, she never gets a break. She never has time to see a sunrise.

The past few months of my life have been dark. Very dark. It's nearly Christmas, and I've been wishing for months for peace of mind, peace of heart, the kinds of things that you can't put on your Visa, the kinds of things you can't get in a little box with shiny redandgreen paper that rattles when you shake it.

I got a sunrise.

That's good enough for me. :-)
